Emergency numbers, airport taxis, interpreters, pharmacies, money and SIM cards.

A listing is not a recommendation. Badges show only what we have checked.

Emergency and helplines

In any emergency, call 112. The tourist helpline 1363 answers in 12 languages, day and night.

Cabs and airport pickup

At the airport, use the official prepaid taxi counter or an app cab. Avoid drivers who approach you inside the terminal.

Interpreters and translators

Most large hospitals arrange an interpreter through their international patient desk. Ask when you book. The 1363 tourist helpline also answers in Arabic, French, Russian and 9 other languages.

Pharmacies

Carry your prescriptions. Many hospitals have a 24-hour pharmacy inside the hospital.

Change money only at banks or authorised money changers, and keep every receipt.

SIM cards

Bring your passport and a copy of your valid Indian visa. Buy only from an official store or airport counter, never a pre-activated SIM.

Ambulance
